Kindle Freebies – 3/25/12

25 Mar

Sorry I haven’t posted any freebies the last couple of days, but I don’t always have time to create these blog posts as it takes a bit of time to get all the links and such together.  This should cover everything that I personally thought looked like good freebies over the course of the weekend however.  As always, click the cover art and/or book title to get to the book.  Also, prices can change at any time, I have no control over that.

HIGHLIGHTS:

Since I have previously read both of the following books for review in the past, I’m posting them here at the top as highlights with my personal review of the books.  Both of these are amazing reads, so don’t miss out on them while they are free!

Love crime?  Love noir?  Love bizarro?  Love comedy?  If you said yes to any of these questions, then Squid Pulp Blues is for you!  The book is made up of three novellas and has been described as squishy-noir, and contains all of the genres I just listed.

The first novella, The Haberdasher, is about bad drugs, missing feet, and other weird things that Red Henry Hooper is up against after obtaining parole.  The Longheads is the second novella and has probably one of the most interesting, yet disturbing characters I’ve come across in a bizarro title to date… Peachy, a diaper-wearing gangster.  I’ll leave it to your imagination about exactly WHY Peachy wears a diaper, as it’s best to find out for yourself.  Peachy is actually not the main focus of this story, however.  The story centers on a group of veterans called the Longheads who are tracking down other characters who end up having a run-in with Peachy.  The final novella in this collection is titled The Apocalypse Donkey.  This was my favorite of the three stories, though they are all extremely good.  The Apocalypse Donkey is about Simon, the artist of a popular comic book, who is on his way to an autograph session when someone hands him a package.  Unfortunately, it’s a case of mistaken identity and the package isn’t really for him.  Once this is discovered by the other party, the chase is on!

All three novellas in Squid Pulp Blues are loosely connected, making for an even more interesting read.  Characterization is one of the strongest points of Squid Pulp Blues, as is the case for all of Krall’s books.  Each story contains several characters and each and every one of them has special attributes/features that are unique to them.  I keep thinking that Krall will run out of ideas for new and interesting characters, but he hasn’t disappointed yet.    Randomly gross, most often hilarious, and almost always full of squid references, this is one of Jordan Krall’s finest works.  I would recommend this to anyone as there is something in it for everyone.  Highly recommended!

YOU.  Yes, “you”… are a poor soul in the hospital on your last legs.  And as it is, you’ve “given birth” to one of the most horrible “people” ever possible…

MORBID.  Born from “your” rectum, Morbid dispatches many other patients in the hospital in extremely horrendous and painful ways.  However, the main suspect of these murders isn’t Morbid, but instead…

WESTPHAL.  Living with his ghost step-dad, Sammy, and his pet aborted fetus, Chip, Westphal works as a night shift nurse, getting stuck with all of the worst patients.  All those that no one else wants to fool with.  Just to get through the day, Westphal has to dope himself up with the strongest narcotics possible and that doesn’t always help make things easier.

These three characters, as well as a host of other interesting “people” make up Steven Rage’s You Morbid Westphal. Both the characters and story format are unique- Rage has created a one-of-a-kind voice with this novella, which has enough story to fill a full-length book.  A large chunk of the story follows Westphal day-to-day as he suffers through many horrendous tasks at work, in his dreams, and even just trying to obtain more drugs along the way.

As soon as I read the final chapters of this book I was ready to re-read it.  I ended up waiting a few months before doing just that, but after a second read, I would be more than happy to do so yet again… and again… and again…  You Morbid Westphal is one of those novellas that never get tiresome, as you pick up something different with each read through.  You Morbid Westphal is not for the faint of heart, as it is full of numerous crude scenes that Rage describes in graphic detail.  For many seasoned horror/bizarro readers, this will be a plus, but for those that can’t handle things over the top, beware!  Highly recommended!

HORROR & THRILLERS

A janitor, a former junkie, a cab driver, a waitress, a high school senior. Strangers in life, they each receive a blue card in the mail. Now they are connected in death by blue cards found on their bodies. The enigmatic letters on the cards mean something to the killer, something Homicide Detective Jayson Weis has to decipher before he can rid the city of this madman. Confronted with the bodies of the present, haunted by the bodies of the past, Weis knows there will be more bodies in his future unless he can stop the Card Killer. When the few witnesses can’t agree about the killer, not even the race and sex, Weis begins to dread the possibility of a second killer. His relationship with long time girlfriend Lois Fremont is deteriorating. The pressure from City Hall mounts. His own uncertainty about his future dulls the edge of his investigation. Help comes from an unexpected direction, a paraplegic teenager who has also received one of the cards.

A personal loss throws medium Tess Schafer’s beliefs into question and severs her communications with “the other side”. Unable to move on with her life, she takes a healing vacation to a haunted resort on the coast of Maine. Her arrival triggers a spike in paranormal activity and the return of her spiritual connection.

As the spirits of two young lovers reach out to her, Tess soon finds herself in the middle of much more than a tragic love story. Why are they afraid and why are they warning her away? Personal doubts, skeptics, a growing sense of menace and a distracting attraction to another guest will not stop her from uncovering the resort’s secrets.

This omnibus contains the novels WHERE DARKNESS DWELLS and THE NIGHTMARE WITHIN. A monster of a volume, this single ebook is over 195k words (or 700+ pages if in print).

WHERE DARKNESS DWELLS
Summer, 1934. Two boys, searching for a local legend, stumble upon the Underground, a network of uncharted caverns. Time holds no sway there; people no longer age and their wounds heal as if by magic. By morning, one boy is murdered, while the other never returns.
Below a town ravaged by the Great Depression, an immortal society thrives, built on the backs of slavery and pervasive immorality.

THE NIGHTMARE WITHIN
Maury can pull dreams into the waking world, giving them corporeal form. From a boy named Kevin, he removes a nightmare dubbed Mr. Freakshow. Mr. Freakshow knows the rules: a dream becomes immortal by killing its dreamer. When the nightmare escapes his confinement, he has but one goal.

Will Kevin survive his nightmare?

PARANORMAL ROMANCE/EROTICA

Meet Vivian. She’s a 580-year-old vampire who exudes sex, has a talent for drama, and is passionate about two things: her human husband, Rafe, and their resort for the undead. Her ability to project physical illusions has created the perfect vacation spot — a dark, isolated Alaskan hideaway where visitors can have their wildest fantasies come true.

Vivian knows the best performance requires perfect timing, but the powerful vamp is put to the test when she discovers a corpse in a locked guestroom minutes before the next arrivals. Always cool-headed, Rafe hides the body, convinced he and Vivian can find the culprit without disturbing their guests.

Juggling the increasingly outrageous demands of their customers while tracking a killer isn’t easy. Will their poking and prodding give them the answers they need, or will it uncover secrets Vivian would kill to protect?

What would you do if your child told you they saw faces in the walls? Would you believe them or put it down to a case of a child’s night terrors?

What would you do if strange termite mounds started to appear in your greenhouse? Would you call the exterminator or wonder if something unnatural was responsible for the weird constructions?

THE REAL: The award-winning Amazon.com supernatural thriller, #1 “Ghosts” bestseller and 2011 overall top 100 Amazon ebook bestseller!

A SEQUENCE OF SEEMINGLY UNRELATED STRANGE AND TRAGIC EVENTS TRANSFORMS THE ORDINARY LIFE OF JEREMY SPIRES INTO ONE FILLED WITH ADVENTURE, INTRIGUE, AND PERIL.

Who wouldn’t want to become cognizant of secret realms?
When seven hippies burned to death 39 years ago in a tragic fire, a ghost story was spawned. The legend, passed down by students at the local University, centers on Claire Wales, a.k.a. the Hippie Queen. Graduate student Jeremy Spires thinks nothing of the tale until he stops on a deserted road to help a stranded motorist, Grady, who retells the ghost story as if it and the Hippie Queen are real. Despite Grady’s warnings to stay away, Jeremy and his devoted girlfriend, Jinni Malone, plan a camping trip to the very place – Reefers Woods – where the hippies died. After a near-death experience, an ultra-vivid dream and bizarre visions of children roaming about, Jeremy wonders if there could be some extraordinary power manifested in Reefers Woods. Can Jeremy, in his role as a cynical scientist, dare to believe in the supernatural? Can he discern what is real and what is not?

Do you know what it is to burn?
No? Neither did Jeremy, at least not before a girl, a beautiful stranger, kissed him unexpectedly in a bar. In the days that followed, and despite his love for Jinni, Jeremy cannot turn his thoughts away from the provocative encounter. When Jeremy gives in to his forbidden desires and seeks out the mysterious Monika, he is thrust into a shadowy subculture of sex, drugs and rock-and-roll, of which he had been completely unaware. It is Monika who asks the question, and subsequently reveals what it is to burn.

I can’t believe she’s dead!
The intrigue and suspense intensifies after a ritualistic murder at the University draws the attention of the nation. After learning that the victim is someone very close to Jeremy and after finding evidence linking him to the crime scene, the police focus on Jeremy as a suspect, forcing him to search for the real killer and to try and make sense of the many unforeseen twists and turns his life takes.

What is THE REAL?
THE REAL may be described as a murder-mystery, an action-adventure and a supernatural thriller, deftly folded into one. The observant among you might see the novel through an allegorical lens or even as an extended fable. Regardless, this book can be experienced on several levels. It is up to you, the reader, to decide how deeply you wish to delve.

A collection of 5 short ghost/horror stories.

The Haunted Carousel- From chasing the urban legends of Corona to visiting Mr. Pitchord’s creepy house, the seniors from Corona High, 1985 get more than they bargain for when they run across an old carousel on the deceased owner’s property. Amidst a wicked storm, Donovan and his friends find that the ghost of Pitchford is the least of their worries.

Petrified- Surlee’s, Big Sur California, is the place to go to get unusual petrified statuettes. For Ramona and Tom, the beautiful agony depicted on the expressions of the carvings became an all too real horror when they realized Surlee’s secret for success.

Music Box- Sometimes, true love really does last forever.

I Am Ellis Moore- He doesn’t remember the past and he doesn’t understand the future. Ellis only lives for the present, avoiding the hateful witch Zhena who resides in his basement. On October 31st, he’s reminded why he creeps through the hidden corridors of Moore Manor when his father pays him an unexpected visit.

Chameleon- A day in the life of Thaddeus Grey, a man compelled to blend into his surroundings. Literally.

Faith’s torn affection between the two angelic brothers, Kort and Seth, is once again tested, and then put aside as an unexpected threat looms. Satan and all of his followers are scrambling to tempt, touch, and invade humanity again; thus, weakening God’s rule and unlocking the chains of…The Irin.

Kort, who is to be of truth and honor, wants to keep Faith in the dark about the ex-archangel hit squad with powers that supersede those of the two angelic brothers in love with her. Seth wants to tell her everything; including the fact that the leader of The Irin, Samyaza, is not only cruel, but takes the virtue of human women to give his angelic powers a boost. And if he can take the virtue of ‘the chosen one,’ he will gain power over all of mankind as well. Well…no more piddly-ass-little-girl crap, Faith’s tired of being the damsel-in-distress, and she’s not about to be any longer. God bestows Faith with some unique weapons against The Irin—useful blessings, for not only does sexuality ooze off Samyaza like rays of light bursting off the sun, his features would buckle any human girl’s knees.

Can she resist Samyaza’s charms? If so…can she escape his cruelness? Because, he will have her ‘power’ one way or another.

Moonlight City lies on the border between this world and the next, so it’s only natural that there should be some extra-ordinary citizens in town. But when that supernatural element turns nasty, it’s time to call in the Moonlight Monsters Detective Agency.

In this action-packed Christmas adventure, half-demon detective Tina Peterson finds herself facing off against a coven of Krampi – chaotic winter demons – who are masquerading as store Santas at Shopping Malls all over Moonlight City. But can she save the city from total bedlam without enlisting the help of smooth-talking British vampire Sam Parker? Even though she has an outstanding warrant for his arrest?

Hells Bells! can be read as a stand alone story or in order as part of the series.

And lastly, as I just couldn’t resist this title/cover (*giggles*)…

Another short paranormal sex story by Lucy Pire.

Managing to buy her first house at 20 thanks to the money she makes as a well known medium, her first day moving in doesn’t go exactly as she plans.

Erica soon finds out there’s a ghost in her house, not that she really minds. And this one seems to be quite helpful, in more ways then one…

Descriptive, and guaranteed to turn you on.

The first omnibus contains novels 1-3 of the Rowan Gant Investigation series.  (click the images to go get the books)

THE DEAD ARE SHAMELESS GOSSIPS. AFTER YOU HELP ONE OF THEM, WORD GETS AROUND FAST…

3 Full-Length Novels in 1 E-book…

GHOUL SQUAD is a 3-in-1 compilation of the first three award-winning Rowan Gant Investigations supernatural thrillers by M. R. Sellars, containing: HARM NONE, NEVER BURN A WITCH, and PERFECT TRUST, plus a bonus – the first two chapters of THE LAW OF THREE, book 4 in the RGI series.

HARM NONE: A Rowan Gant Investigation (Book 1)

Satan always gets the blame…

A ritual killing, complete with Occult symbols. The chilling words, ALL IS FORGIVEN scrawled in the victim’s own blood. This is definitely NOT just another run of the mill crime scene for Metropolitan Saint Louis Homicide.

Wary of the lip service from the department’s “cult expert,” Detective Benjamin Storm contacts his long time friend, Rowan Gant for advice. A freelance computer consultant with a penchant for studying religions and spirituality, Rowan also happens to be a practicing, modern-day Witch. He easily sheds light on the meanings behind the symbols, however, what they reveal is that this murder is only a prelude to much more ritualistic bloodletting, all in order to feed the killer’s delusions.

As the body count starts to rise, and the dead begin to speak to Rowan, he finds himself torn from his mundane life, and thrust into a pivotal role in a race to stop a sadistic serial killer.

NEVER BURN A WITCH: A Rowan Gant Investigation (Book 2)

They burn Witches, don’t they?

A killer armed with gross misinterpretations of the Holy Bible, and a 15th century Witch hunting manual known as the Malleus Maleficarum, has chosen to resurrect the Inquisition, and the residents of Saint Louis are his prey. With the unspeakable horrors of “The Burning Times” being played out across the metropolitan area, Rowan Gant is again enlisted by Homicide Detective Benjamin Storm and the Greater Saint Louis Major Case Squad to help hunt down a killer who is on a relentless spree. Rowan’s knowledge of religion and history are invaluable to the investigation. The fact that he seems unable to escape the voices of the dead, even more so.

But being a Witch can only mean one thing – the hunter is also the hunted.

PERFECT TRUST: A Rowan Gant Investigation (Book 3)

Dead I am… Dead I am… I do not like that dead I am.

Rowan Gant used to be just an average guy who just happened to be a Witch. However, when the spirits of murder victims found out he could hear them, they started coming to him for help. His life just hasn’t been the same since…

In a span of less than two years, Rowan’s curse of hearing the dead has brought him face to face with not one but two serial killers. Now still recovering from the post-traumatic stress of those investigations, all he wants is to spend a peaceful Yuletide season at home with his wife and friends. Unfortunately, the vengeful spirit of a dead college cheerleader has a different holiday celebration in mind, and she’s not going to stop until he listens.

Once again, Rowan is thrust headlong into a murder investigation as a civilian consultant to the Greater Saint Louis Major Case Squad. However, the dark visions now playing out in his mind’s eye bring the twisted desires of a deranged sexual predator far too close to home, making Rowan doubt his sanity – and perhaps even his own innocence…

The second omnibus contains novels 6-8 of the Rowan Gant Investigation series.  However, this is a story arc of trilogy about the character Miranda.

HELL HATH NO FURY LIKE MIRANDA…

3 Full-Length Novels in 1 E-book…

DEATH WEARS HIGH HEELS is a 3-in-1 compilation of the pivotal MIRANDA TRILOGY story arc from the Rowan Gant Investigations supernatural thriller series by M. R. Sellars, containing: LOVE IS THE BONDALL ACTS OF PLEASURE, and THE END OF DESIRE, plus a bonus – the first two chapters of BLOOD MOON, book 9 in the RGI saga.

THE ROWAN GANT INVESTIGATIONS

Rowan Gant is the unofficial Witch for the Greater Saint Louis Major Case Squad. He never wanted the job, but when you can hear the voices of the dead begging for help you aren’t left with much choice in the matter. Unless, of course, you are completely devoid of a conscience.

Unfortunately for Rowan, he still has one…

LOVE IS THE BOND: A Rowan Gant Investigation (RGI Book 6 – Miranda Trilogy Book 1)

When the wind blows from the south, love will kiss thee on the mouth. And then, she will kill you…

Rowan Gant’s unwanted gift of hearing the dead has placed him at the center of some of the most heinous serial murder investigations imaginable. This one, however, not only comes knocking on his front door, it steps across the threshold…

Of existing serial homicide cases, women make up less than one-tenth of American serial killers. However, among female serial killers in existence worldwide, American women have the dubious honor of snagging better than three-quarters of that total.

Within the characteristics of the Kelleher Typology nine point categorization of serial killers is that of SEXUAL PREDATORS- those who systematically kill others in clear acts of sexual homicide.

They are sociopaths, sometimes harboring a form of paraphilia, but almost always killing in order to fuel or even validate an ongoing fantasy. In the case of female serial killers, however, this classification is so distinctly rare that there has only been one documented instance of it in the United States.

Still, there are those who wonder if that case was merely an isolated anomaly, or in fact a harbinger of what is yet to come.

Rowan Gant is about to find the answer to that question. The problem is, it might just be one he doesn’t want to hear…

ALL ACTS OF PLEASURE: A Rowan Gant Investigation (RGI Book 7 – Miranda Trilogy Book 2)

Who really pays for the sins of the father?

Rowan Gant’s wife is at the center of an investigation involving a
string of brutal, sexually-motivated murders. What that investigation
reveals will change her life in ways she never imagined.

ALL ACTS OF PLEASURE is the powerful and revealing sequel to the Rowan
Gant Investigations biggest cliffhanger to date, LOVE IS THE BOND.

THE END OF DESIRE: A Rowan Gant Investigation (RGI Book 8 – Miranda Trilogy Book 3)

Evil has a name, and it is Miranda…

On his own and without any official sanction, Rowan Gant finds himself in Katrina devastated New Orleans hot on the trail of the sadistic serial killer calling herself Mistress Miranda. His every waking thought is consumed with stopping her before she kills again, but his dedication to the task is based on a deeply selfish reason – to save his wife, Felicity.

There are greater forces at play, and he knows it. An unfortunate blood connection is cemented on all sides by misguided WitchCraft and Hoodoo Magic. Now, the expression “thicker than water” takes on a whole new meaning.

To bring an end to the personal horror, a forgotten spell must first be broken. An incantation bound in love, but cast in fear; and one that is now growing stronger every minute it remains unchecked.

But even then, that is only half the battle.

The End Of Desire is the final chapter of the gut wrenching Miranda Trilogy…

…Or is it?

With such a generous offer of these freebies from the author, why not pick up the other books in this series as well to have the complete set?

Installment number four in the acclaimed Rowan Gant Investigations suspense-thriller series. The Law Of Three is a no holds barred follow up to Harm None, Never Burn A Witch, and Perfect Trust.

The Inquisitor is back and he wants revenge…

Saint Louis is once again the hunting ground for Eldon Andrew Porter, the deranged spree killer who reenacted the horrors of the 15th century Inquisition upon his victims. Everyone believed he had fallen to his death in the icy waters of the Mississippi river on a dark February night – Everyone except Rowan Gant, that is. He knew Porter would eventually return, and that he would be his primary target.

What he hadn’t expected was the way in which the twisted sociopath would take aim, and the collateral damage it would bring.

Now, the unofficial Witch of the of the Saint Louis Major Case Squad must become the bait in this manhunt before any more innocent lives are lost.

Installment number five in the acclaimed Rowan Gant Investigations suspense-thriller series.

The silence of the dead can be deafening…

These are the things of which nightmares are made: Decomposed remains in a shallow grave, a missing school teacher, an abduction, and a cyclical timeline that all add up to a frightening theory – a sadistic serial killer may well be prowling Saint Louis by the semi-darkness of the waning moon.

This is exactly the type of case on which Rowan Gant would consult for the Major Case Squad. However, for some unknown reason his personal curse – the uncontrolled channeling of the spirits of murder victims – seems to be on indefinite hiatus. He can no longer communicate with the dead, but he’s absolutely certain they are still talking, because someone who is very close to him can hear them loud and clear.

Installment number nine in the acclaimed Rowan Gant Investigations suspense-thriller series.

Blood Lust Under The Gateway Arch…

Consulting for the Greater Saint Louis Major Case Squad has become an almost full-time job for Rowan-as well as a deeply ingrained part of his life. Still, his desire for the once normal existence he enjoyed – one that was devoid of crime scenes and horrific visions – fuels a deep reluctance to get involved. However, when a long time enemy within the police force and an insistent spirit both demand the benefits of Rowan’s unique talents, he is thrust into a new murder investigation where blood and fangs are all the rage.

But as questions are answered and truth revealed, a thread of deception unravels in the encroaching darkness, leaving the unofficial Witch of the Major Case Squad to wonder who he can really trust.

(Note:  Not sure if this is considered #10 or is just a standalone book, but it’s more about Miranda)

SOME PEOPLE JUST WON’T STAY DEAD

Rowan Gant has a terrible curse… The spirits of the dead just won’t leave him alone…

Still reeling from the unsettling outcome of his most recent case with the Saint Louis police department’s Major Case Squad, Rowan once again finds himself face to face with an unearthly incarnation of evil- Miranda, a 19th century serial killer that simply refuses to remain
dead.

Unfortunately, this unfinished business between the worlds of the living and the deceased carries a very steep price for everyone involved – especially Rowan Gant…

Still not enough M.R. Sellars for you to read???  Guess what?  There’s more!!!  Sellars has started a second series.  So far there is just one short story, which is currently also FREE (not sure how long this one is staying free)… and one novel…

Little Merrie Callahan is all grown up now.
She doesn’t believe in Santa anymore.
But she still has an ax to grind with the man in the red suit.

And, for FBI Special Agent Constance Mandalay, the holidays just went to hell…

MERRIE AXEMAS is a thriller novella with a creepy supernatural twist, straight from the warped mind of M. R. Sellars, author of the award-winning Rowan Gant Investigations series of paranormal and occult thrillers. Although set during the Christmas holiday season, it is an enthralling read at any time of year.

In 1975 the small town of Hulis was ground zero in a frantic search for 10 year-old Merrie Frances Callahan, as well as an intense manhunt for her abductor.

35 years later, it seems the FBI would like to pretend it never happened.

Special Agent Constance Mandalay didn’t get that memo…

THE SMALL TOWN OF HULIS IS HIDING A KILLER SECRET…

IN THE BLEAK MIDWINTER is based on the short teaser novella MERRIE AXEMAS: A Killer Holiday Tale, but it tells the whole story of ten-year-old Merrie Frances Callahan’s 1975 abduction, and the present day murders that are somehow intricately linked to that event.

SA Constance Mandalay is assigned what appears to be a 7-year-old cold case that echos the events of the 35-year-old child abduction. Unfortunately for all involved, the case heats up for a short time each year with a brutal murder that appears eerily staged, and occurs under impossible circumstances.

Undaunted, she faces the task with no backup, a mysteriously redacted case file, and the inevitable murder fast approaching.

Mandalay’s experience as the handler for an FBI occult/paranormal expert makes her the perfect choice for this investigation. However, even her brushes with the unexplained still cannot prepare her for the answer she was not supposed to discover…

Tuesday Freebies Part 2

7 Feb

Adding to my previous post… here are two more Kindle Freebies for today:

The monsters lurk in everyone: monsters of greed, of guilt, of the pleasure found in pain, of the pain found when pleasure dies. Carefully disguised, the monsters can sit down beside you or take up residence within you at the slightest twist of fate. Will you try to stop them? Will you want to?

This collection of 18 stories from R. Thomas Riley deftly explores the monsters born of the human mind. “Attrition” offers a future prison system that frees only those who repent sincerely—but what can an inmate do if he finds that sincerity is not really the key? “Twin Thieves” and “Tautology” throw a devilish spin on relationships gone wrong, while “The Lesser Evil” twists the abuses of race and power into a gritty, noirish nightmare of the choices a man must make to protect a lesser man and a greater good. In “Touching God,” a young man’s past catches up to him when worlds bleed into each other and the past crosses into present, bringing back the abuse he once escaped and the brother who wasn’t so lucky.
Sacrifice, selfishness, and the worst of good intentions: all combine in The Monster Within Idea. From vampires and aliens to hit women and Wild Bill Hickock, Riley gives a subtle psychological turn to dark science fiction and horror. Let the monsters walk the paths of your mind. The idea is already within.

The long-awaited second issue of Shock Totem features new fiction from David Jack Bell, Cate Gardner, Vincent Pendergast, Leslianne Wilder, and others. Also includes nonfiction from Mercedes M. Yardley, a conversation with James Newman, reviews, and more.

But long ago, William Barrow had another name…one that is synonymous with shame and betrayal: Judas Iscariot.

The Forgotten Eden:

These stories range from the horrific to the surreal, and prove Michael Laimo to be a compelling stylist and relentless storyteller. None have been collected previously and some are original to this volume.
